Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine

Hi, I’m Kat. I’m a licensed acupuncturist, yoga teacher and integrative wellness practitioner dedicated to helping you restore balance, vitality, and resilience in your body, mind, and nervous system.

My approach blends the time‑tested wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Five Element Acupuncture with a modern, trauma‑informed, and energetically attuned perspective—so your care is both deeply therapeutic and personalized.

Whether you’re seeking relief from pain, stress, digestive concerns, hormonal imbalances, insomnia, skin issues, or emotional burnout, acupuncture offers a gentle yet powerful way to support your body’s natural capacity to heal.

What to Expect in a Session

Your acupuncture session begins with a comprehensive intake and diagnosis rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine. This includes discussion of your symptoms, health history, stress levels, digestion, sleep, emotional state, and overall vitality.

Treatment modalities may include:

Acupuncture

Moxibustion (moxa)

Meridian balancing

Cupping or gua sha

Lifestyle and Chinese dietary guidance

Chinese herbal recommendations

Sessions are deeply relaxing and designed to support both immediate symptom relief and long‑term healing.

Payment, Insurance, & Superbills

I strive to make care as accessible and flexible as possible and offer sliding scale rates on a case-by-case basis. Please contact me for more details.

  • HSA/FSA Accepted: You may use your Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) to pay for acupuncture services.

  • Superbills for Insurance Reimbursement: While I am not in‑network with insurance companies, I happily provide detailed superbills that you can submit to your insurance provider for potential out‑of‑network reimbursement.

Coverage varies by plan, so I recommend checking with your insurance company regarding acupuncture benefits and reimbursement policies.

My Training & Background

I completed my Master of Acupuncture degree at Maryland University of Integrative Health (MUIH), now known as Notre Dame of Maryland University. My education provided a strong foundation in:

  • Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) & Five Element diagnosis and treatment

  • Acupuncture and meridian therapy

  • Herbal medicine

  • Eastern and Western medical integration

  • Mind‑body medicine (meditation, qi gong, breathwork)

In addition to my clinical training, I bring a holistic, consciousness‑based lens into my work, informed by my background in yoga, energy medicine, shadow integration, and somatic healing. This allows me to support not only physical symptoms, but the deeper energetic and emotional patterns that contribute to imbalance.

What I Treat

I work with a wide range of concerns, including but not limited to:

  • Chronic and acute pain (neck, back, joints, headaches, migraines)

  • Stress, anxiety, burnout, and nervous system dysregulation

  • Digestive issues (bloating, IBS, poor digestion)

  • Hormonal imbalances (PMS, fertility support, menopause)

  • Sleep disturbances and insomnia

  • Skin conditions

  • Fatigue and low energy

  • Emotional and spiritual well‑being

Every session is tailored to your unique constitution, symptoms, lifestyle, and energetic needs.

A Holistic, Patient‑Centered Approach

My philosophy of care is rooted in the belief that healing happens when we address the whole person—body, mind, emotions, and energy. I take the time to truly listen, understand your story, and co‑create a treatment plan that aligns with your goals and your life.

Whether you’re navigating chronic symptoms, seeking preventative care, or desiring deeper mind‑body alignment, acupuncture offers a powerful pathway back to balance.
